Aongus O’Gorman

Head of Investments, Pacific

Aongus-OGorman, Head of Investments, Pacific

Aongus O’Gorman is the Head of WTW’s Investments business in Australia, based in Brisbane. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s asset consulting, delegated solutions and strategic advisory capabilities.

Aongus has 30 years of industry experience where he has been an asset owner, asset manager and investment consultant. He was responsible for the Delegated business and was also a member of the liquid diversifying strategies manager research team before transitioning to his current role.

Prior to joining WTW in 2015, Aongus was managing director at Round Tower Solutions, a boutique consulting firm. Prior to that, he was director of implemented solutions for institutional fund manager QIC and was responsible for managing its external manager alpha program. He spent the early part of his career as a hedge fund manager within IIU Asset Strategies, a family office in Europe.


Sean Hollins

Portfolio Manager | Head of Clients, Investments

Sean is a Portfolio Manager and is responsible for setting investment strategy, selecting high quality investment managers, portfolio construction and portfolio implementation on behalf of WTW’s Multi-Asset Funds and delegated client portfolios. Sean is a member and a former chair of the firm’s internal Investment Committee in Australia, the Australian Portfolio Management Group.

In addition, Sean leads WTW’s client team in Australia. This is the client-facing team directly responsible for delivering advisory and delegated investment services to WTW’s Australian client base. Sean has 17 years of investment industry experience. Prior to joining WTW in 2013, Sean worked in PwC’s investment consulting team for five years where he undertook analysis to support the provision of a range of investment solutions such as manager selection, portfolio construction and investment monitoring. Sean is a CFA Charter Holder, a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Science (Mathematical Sciences) from Curtin University.


Heidi Hargrave

Assistant Portfolio Manager | Director, Investments

Heidi Hargrave

Heidi Hargrave is an Director based in Sydney. As a member of the broader client team in Australia, Heidi’s responsibilities include setting investment strategy, portfolio construction, manager selection and providing strategic advice to clients.

Heidi is also a voting member of the Australian Portfolio Management Group, the firm’s internal Investment Committee in Australia. With 12 years of investment experience, including 10 years at WTW, Heidi previously worked in funds management for unlisted property group, Haben Property Fund. Heidi is a CFA Charter Holder, RG146 Certified and holds a Combined Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics (Distinction) from the University of New South Wales.


Jack Sutherland

Head of Investment Strategy, Australia

Jack Sutherland is the Head of Investment Strategy for Australia, based in Sydney. He is responsible for assisting our client base with setting their investment objectives and strategies, including providing macroeconomic and financial market views and dynamic positioning advice. He is also responsible for the oversight of our Asian and Australian asset models, as well as assisting the team in the stochastic modelling of client portfolios.

Prior to joining WTW in 2017, Jack worked as a civil engineer providing specialist advice to the strata and property management and construction industries. Jack is a CFA Charter Holder and holds a Master of Commerce in Finance and Quantitative Finance and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Sydney.


Andrew Povah

Chair - Australian Portfolio Management Group | Director, Investments

Andrew Povah is a director based in Sydney. He is primarily involved with advising institutional clients on a range of investment issues including strategic asset allocation, as well as manager structure and selection. Andrew consults to a diverse client mix including insurance companies, superannuation funds, charities and endowments.

Andrew is a qualified actuary and has 24 years of investment industry experience. Prior to joining WTW in 2008, Andrew worked at Aon Consulting both in Australia and the UK for nine years, consulting to a large range of institutional investors including both defined contribution and defined benefit clients. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (Honours) from the University of Nottingham and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, UK.


Michael Vassilopoulos

Michael Vassilopoulos, Director, Investments

Michael Vassilopoulos is a director based in Melbourne. He is a Strategist and WTW’s not-for-profit sector lead, currently working with a range of not-for-profit clients.

Michael has gained extensive experience advising university and foundation clients on their investment purpose and beliefs, multi-asset class investment strategies and ensuring the alignment of their investment portfolios with their organisational and philanthropic mission. Additionally, he is a member of the Investment Strategy team and responsible for advising clients on their investment objectives, investment strategy and portfolio construction, and developing WTW’s quantitative portfolio construction tools and capital market assumptions.

Michael previously worked at EY in actuarial consulting and in funds management before joining WTW in 2018. Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) from Monash University and is an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.
